Free printables and spreadsheets

Worksheets for the parts of a project a calculator cannot do for you — in the room with a tape measure, in the aisle with a flat cart, or in a spreadsheet that keeps the running total.

Twelve sheets, each one tied to something the calculators do. Every one comes two ways: a Letter-size PDF that prints on a home printer without eating a cartridge, and a spreadsheet with the sums already built in. No sign-up — both links are on each page.

The spreadsheet is not the print-out with cells around it. The shopping list works out how many packages to buy and what they will cost. The room estimator takes one set of measurements and carries it across every material. The layout planner tells you the width of the cut at each edge before you buy a single tile. The quote comparison totals three bids and shows the spread. They open in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice or Google Sheets.

They exist because the moments a project actually goes wrong are mostly away from a screen. In the room, where you measure the wrong surface or forget the ceiling height. In the aisle, where the number you worked out at home turns out to be in square feet and everything on the shelf is sold in boxes. On the driveway, where a delivery is two sheets short and you have already signed for it.
